We believe in investing in children - the next generation of good stewards. We offer a number of field environmental education programs to help kids learn about the River first hand. If you have a children's group and want to participate, click on REGISTER at the bottom of this page and fill out the form. We'll get back to you with more information.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Just Around the River Bend
The river banks are filled with plant and animal life. We'll explore the wildlife of the area and discuss how we humans can coexist.
River of the Ebb and Flow
The Rappahannock River shares its name with a local Native American tribe. We'll explore how the Rappahannock's live in harmony with the river and we will learn more about the tribe today.
A Spring Becomes a River
Our beautiful Rappahannock begins as a spring that becomes a mile river flowing to the Chesapeake Bay. We'll explore the geologic changes the river experiences on its journey.
Wetlands: Snowden and Beyond
Explore a wetlands ecosystem and learn about other wetland types and why they are essential to a healthy river system.
We All Live Downstream
We'll be "water detectives" and learn about the chemistry of our river, discuss pollution's impact and how to avoid it.
The Rappahannock is My Home
Let's look at the Rappahannock through a fish's eye. Learn about aquatic plants and wildlife that live in and along the river.
