Warsaw, Virginia Low Impact Development Assistance Project
A joint project of

and the Town of Warsaw, Virginia
Funded by the Chesapeake Bay Program - Small Watershed Grants Program
through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation
Project Overview
Many rural communities throughout the Bay region are faced with the problem of how to accommodate growth while managing their infrastructure and protecting natural resources. Low Impact Development (LID) is an innovative new approach to stormwater management that provides superior environmental protection and lower initial and long term capital and maintenance costs then conventional development. The purpose of this project is to examine how a small Virginia community in the Chesapeake Bay region can incorporate LID into it's planning and development process and then demonstrate an application of the technology as part of the outreach and education process.
